Dr. Bello began his academic career as a Graduate Assistant at OOU, Ogun State, a position awarded to him on the ground of his outstanding performance at undergraduate. He received the award of the most intellectually stable undergraduate student and also emerged as the best graduating M.Sc student at OOU. He has actively participated in scientific research at local and international levels with most recent being North-West University, South Africa; McGill University, Montreal, and the University of Ottawa, Canada. He is a recipient of several academic awards.
Research focus includes:
- Detection and molecular characterization of bacteriocins from different sources.
- Investigation on the application of bacteriocins in medicine, food preservation, and public health.
- Molecular detection of virulence genes from clinical samples, and other samples of public health significance, with the aim of profiling the resistance patterns of associated bacteria.
