I hereby welcome you to the official website of the Department of Nursing Education and Administration (NEA), University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, Nigeria. The focus of the department are to promote inter-professional and intra-professional harmony, promote professional ethics and etiquette through teaching and seminars, develop skills for teaching and learning and produce nurse leaders that will drive and implement evidenced-based innovations in nursing education and practice.
The department is committed to positively addressing the challenges of Human Resources for Health (HRH) militating against quality education delivery in the country by promoting students and nurse leader’s interest in nursing education as a field of specialization thereby encouraging nurse educators in different care settings.
Nursing education and administration tends to expose students to learning experience in clinical and community setting. It aimed to produce nurse leaders that can collaborate nationally and internationally with other group to promote excellence in nursing research, education and administration.
Currently, the Department collaborates with the other three Departments in the Faculty to run the BNSc program for post UTME and direct entry candidates. In the future, the Department will run postgraduate programs in nursing education and administration towards enhancing nursing education in Nigeria and globally. The proposed proramme in the Department include post graduate diploma in Nursing Education (PGDNE), post graduate diploma in education(PGDE) and Masters in Nursing Education (MSc, Nursing Edu).

OBJECTIVES
1. To provide conducive environment for learning and practice of good quality nursing care
2. To prepare graduates who can function as polyvalent nurse practitioners
3. To educate nurses who will be able to pursue postgraduate programmes and carry out research that will improve nursing care
4. To produce graduates who can set up their own practice after acquiring some experience
