Lion’s Club pays a courtesy visit to UNIMED, VC

The Lions' Club, District 404A, paid a courtesy visit to the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo City, Ondo State.

‎The Visitation, which centered on building organizational relationships with the school management, had in attendance leaders from the entire district 404A.

‎The team lead, Governor Robinson Omonigho Okoro, District 404A applauded the Vice Chancellor for her steadfastness in the growth of the institution while congratulating her for emerging as the first female vice chancellor of the institution.

‎He said the Lions Club has been in existence since 1917, founded by Melvin Jones in Chicago, USA. The international club's focus is on community service, volunteering, and making positive impacts.

‎He said 'Lions Club has over 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries and geographic areas, and in Nigeria has over 6 districts with regions under each. The Lions Club also has the student arm, which is called LEO (Leadership, Experience, Opportunity).'

‎He therefore proposed that the University community own a club and a student arm branch as well.

In her response, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe appreciated the club for their presence and for making it a duty to bring the club to the University community. She said the university community is ready to host the club as it will be of great impact to both the students and the staff.

‎In appreciation, the Governor decorated the Vice Chancellor, the Library Coordinator and the University PRO.
