Welcome Page

Every year we look forward to a new group of students entering our Department for their Part II MBBS training in chemical pathology. I extend a warm welcome to each of you on behalf of my colleagues in the Department of  Chemical Pathology. You have the advantage of studying at a major research center at the first specialized medical university in Nigeria, while still enjoying the benefits of a small class size.

Our instructional and research facilities at UNIMED are outstanding and are complemented by a dedicated and knowledgeable faculty. All our lecturers are Fellows of National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or West African College of Physicians. They are Consultant Chemical Pathologists. Students benefit immensely from the many years of professional teaching and research experiences of our erudite lecturers who can integrate biochemical and clinical findings to give a holistic interpretation of signs and symptoms during patient management.

We are eager and committed to help you succeed in your academic endeavors.  Participation in the Metabolic Clinic activities and clinical laboratory ward rounds provide our students with a stimulating educational experience along with the most current technologies in laboratory medicine.  Our non-academic staff are friendly and eager to assist you in your educational pursuits all the time. Feel free to talk to them and they will be glad to help. I wish you all the best in your Part II MBBS examinations.

Best regards,
