OBJECTIVES
The aim of the course in surgery shall be to empower trainees with knowledge and skills to make them independently achieve the following set objectives in their career:
1. Apply the principles of prevention in modern Medicine;
2. Understand the role of interactions and collaboration between multiple sectors for optimal health attainment;
3. Understand the importance of population, international and global health;
4. Plan and implement surgical procedures
5. Design, investigate and analyze the environment in conducting independent basic scientific research; and
6. Organize, compare and contrast the roles of various disciplines in pursuance of the attainment of essential indices in health.
7. Understand the importance and concept of population dynamics and demography in health education and in the promotion of health. Able to analyze and recognize the health needs of the community.
8. Understand and implement the principles of surveillance in the management of diseases
